The University of Copenhagen is a public research university in Denmark, founded in 1479 and the oldest in the country. The Niels Bohr Institute, where Bohr and his colleagues developed quantum theory, belongs to it, and Hans Christian Ørsted and Niels Bohr both worked there. As a research university it combines teaching with research across the sciences and the humanities. The atlas links scientists to it where their cited articles say they studied or taught there.
