Hokkaido University is a national research university in Sapporo, Japan, which grew from the Sapporo Agricultural College founded in 1876. It is known for agriculture, fisheries, life sciences, catalysis and chemistry, and Akira Suzuki, who shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2010, worked there.
