Stockholm University is a public research university in Sweden, which began in 1878 as Stockholm University College and received full university status in 1960. Svante Arrhenius, Sofia Kovalevskaya and Oskar Klein held posts at the college, and the university is known for physics, chemistry, geosciences and environmental science.
