Cornell University is a private Ivy League research university in Ithaca, New York, founded in 1865 by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White as a land-grant institution that would teach any person any study. Hans Bethe and Carl Sagan taught there, and the university is known for physics, chemistry, astronomy, agriculture and the life sciences.
