Christian Boehmer Anfinsen Jr. was an American biochemist who lived from 1916 to 1995. He shared the 1972 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Stanford Moore and William Howard Stein for work on the enzyme ribonuclease, especially concerning the connection between its amino acid sequence and its biologically active conformation, a finding known as Anfinsen's dogma.
