Salawat Abdrakhmanovich Gallyamov was a Bashkir scholar and linguist who researched the epics and myths of the peoples of Eurasia and explored linguistic connections between the Bashkir language and other ancient and contemporary languages. He advanced theories about the Turanian origins of the Bashkir people. He was born in Ufa in 1959 and died there in 2018.
