F. Sherwood Rowland

Frank Sherwood Rowland was an American Nobel laureate and professor of chemistry at the University of California, Irvine, whose research focused on atmospheric chemistry and chemical kinetics. His best-known work was the discovery that chlorofluorocarbons contribute to depletion of the ozone layer, for which he shared the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Mario Molina and Paul Crutzen.
