Martin Karplus

Martin Karplus was an Austrian and American theoretical chemist who held the Theodore William Richards professorship of chemistry at Harvard University. He also directed the Biophysical Chemistry Laboratory, a joint laboratory between the French National Center for Scientific Research and the University of Strasbourg. He received the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with Michael Levitt and Arieh Warshel, for the development of multiscale models for complex chemical systems.
