Mary Lowe Good (June 20, 1931 to November 20, 2019) was an American inorganic chemist born in Grapevine, Texas, who studied under Raymond R. Edwards at the University of Arkansas and worked across academia, industry, and government over her career. Her research used techniques such as Mossbauer spectroscopy to understand catalysts, including those based on ruthenium, and she went on to serve as Under Secretary for Technology in the United States Department of Commerce from 1993 to 1997, briefly serving as acting Secretary of Commerce in 1996. Her honors include the Garvan-Olin Medal, the Othmer Gold Medal, the Priestley Medal, and the Vannevar Bush Award.
