Milton Harris

Milton Harris (1906-1991) was an American chemist specializing in textile and protein chemistry, including the molecular geometry of hair, wool and insulin, who directed a textile chemistry research group at the National Bureau of Standards before founding the Harris Research Laboratories. The laboratories were acquired by the Gillette Company in 1955, where he became vice president of research, and he later chaired the American Chemical Society board from 1966 to 1972. He received the Perkin Medal in 1970.
