Andre Hubert Dumont was a Belgian geologist, mineralogist and academic administrator born February 15, 1809, in Liege, then part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, who died February 28, 1857, in Liege, and who published a notable study of Liege geology in 1832 before becoming professor of mineralogy and geology at the University of Liege and later serving as its rector.
