Kent Condie

Kent Condie is an American geochemist, born in 1936, professor emeritus at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology since 1970, whose research addresses the origin and evolution of plate tectonics and continental crust and who pioneered large scale, data driven approaches to geochemistry, conducting fieldwork across Africa, Australia, Europe, Siberia and China. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Pretoria in 2007 and the Distinguished Research Award of New Mexico Tech in 1987. He received the Penrose Medal in 2018.
