Albert Vinicio Baez was a Mexican American physicist who made important contributions to the early development of X-ray microscopes, X-ray optics and later X-ray telescopes. He was the father of the singers Joan Baez and Mimi Farina and an uncle of the mathematical physicist John C. Baez.
