Ambarish Ghosh

Ambarish Ghosh is an Indian physicist born December 18, 1973, in Kolkata, who is a faculty member at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. His research covers nanorobotics, active matter physics, plasmonics and metamaterials, and his 2009 demonstration of controlled propulsion of artificial magnetic nanostructured propellers helped establish independent control techniques for helical nanorobots with potential applications in targeted cancer therapy. His group has also fabricated wafer-scale porous three-dimensional plasmonic metamaterials and trapped multielectron bubbles in liquid helium-4 for high-speed imaging. He received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2018.
