Arun Kumar Biswas

Arun Kumar Biswas was a professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from 1963 to 1995, working in mineral engineering, archaeometallurgy, and the history of minerals and gems in antiquity. He was a founding member of the Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers, held the Mahendralal Sircar Research Professorship in History of Science at the Asiatic Society in Kolkata from 1995 to 2001, and served as an INSA Research Fellow and as a member of the Indian National Science Academy's National Commission for History of Science.
