Phillip James Edwin Peebles (born April 25, 1935) is a Canadian-American astrophysicist, astronomer, and theoretical cosmologist, holder of the Albert Einstein Professorship in Science, emeritus, at Princeton University. He received half of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology, sharing the prize with Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz.
