Jean-Marie Pierre Lehn is a French chemist who received a share of the 1987 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with Donald Cram and Charles Pedersen, for his synthesis of cryptands. His work was pioneering in the field of supramolecular chemistry, the study of host-guest molecular assemblies built from intermolecular interactions.
