Paul Jozef Crutzen was a Dutch meteorologist and atmospheric chemist who was awarded a share of the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, alongside Mario Molina and F. Sherwood Rowland, for their work on atmospheric chemistry, particularly the formation and decomposition of atmospheric ozone. He is also known for popularizing the term Anthropocene for the current geological epoch shaped by human activity.
