Pierre Rene, Viscount Deligne, is a Belgian mathematician best known for his work on the Weil conjectures, which he brought to a complete proof in 1973. He has won the 1978 Fields Medal, the 1988 Crafoord Prize, the 2008 Wolf Prize and the 2013 Abel Prize.
