Radhanath Sikdar was an Indian mathematician and social reformer best known as the first person to calculate the height of Mount Everest, in 1852. He was a member of Henry Derozio's Young Bengal group, and in 1854, together with fellow Derozian Peary Chand Mitra, he founded Masik Patrika, a Bengali journal devoted to the education of Indian women.
