Serena Auñón-Chancellor is an American physician, electrical engineer, and NASA astronaut. She holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering along with a medical degree and a master's degree in public health, and trained as a flight surgeon supporting International Space Station operations before her selection as an astronaut candidate in 2009. In 2018 she spent nearly seven months aboard the International Space Station during Expeditions 56 and 57, logging 196 days, 17 hours and 49 minutes in space. She later moved into a management role at NASA, applying her aerospace medicine expertise to crew health and mission planning.
