Heidelberg University

Heidelberg University is a public research university in Heidelberg, Germany, founded in 1386 and the oldest university in the country. Robert Bunsen, Gustav Kirchhoff and Hermann von Helmholtz worked there in the nineteenth century, and Bunsen and Kirchhoff developed spectroscopy in its laboratories. The atlas links scientists to it where their cited articles name it, including under the older name University of Heidelberg.
