Lebedev Physical Institute

Research Institutes and Laboratories

The Lebedev Physical Institute is a research institute in Moscow, part of the Russian Academy of Sciences, founded in 1934 and named for the physicist Pyotr Lebedev. Igor Tamm, Ilya Frank, Pavel Cherenkov, Nikolay Basov and Prokhorov worked there, and several of them received Nobel Prizes for work done in its laboratories.
