Ulf Svante von Euler was a Swedish physiologist and pharmacologist, born in 1905 and died in 1983, known for his work on neurotransmitters, including the discovery of norepinephrine, and for research on prostaglandins. He shared the 1970 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Bernard Katz and Julius Axelrod for this work on neurotransmitters. He was elected a Foreign Member of the Royal Society in 1973.
