The University of Cambridge is a public collegiate research university in Cambridge, England, founded in 1209 by scholars who had left Oxford and organized into thirty-one self-governing colleges. Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, James Clerk Maxwell, Ernest Rutherford and many other figures of science studied or worked there, and the Cavendish Laboratory, where the electron and the neutron were identified and the structure of DNA was worked out, belongs to the university. The atlas links scientists to it by the institutions where their cited articles say they studied, taught or did research.
