Peter Goldreich

Peter Goldreich is an American astrophysicist born July 14, 1939, whose research focuses on celestial mechanics, planetary rings, helioseismology and neutron stars. He holds the Lee DuBridge Professorship of Astrophysics and Planetary Physics at the California Institute of Technology and has been a professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton since 2005; the asteroid 3805 Goldreich is named in his honor. He received the 2007 Shaw Prize in Astronomy.
